Six Days Backpackers Road Trip to Chandipur and Satkosia Tiger Reserve
It is indeed true a single word cannot express the beauty and experience of Odisha. Marking the eastern boundary of the peninsula of India, the cultural land of Odisha is a tourist destination that completes the jigsaw puzzle. Home to one of the four sacred Hindu pilgrimages, this eastern state satiates the curiosity of a traveller who is curious to learn about the vivid elements that paint its canvas. The state also boasts of stunning architecture both of the temples as well as the houses which will make you feel even more invited. The famous Chilika Lake, also the second largest coastal lagoon in the world has so much to offer you if nature and bird watching attract you. Yes, the lake is a perfect destination for the nature lovers looks for an escape from the hullabaloo of the urban life. Odisha is also home to some really picturesque waterfalls and rivers. The state offers some great family vacation destination and lovers getaways where basking in the lap of nature can rejuvenate you. The state boasts of several national parks and wildlife sanctuaries that offer an incredible experience of sighting diverse flora and fauna. Odisha is also a travel place for art connoisseurs and for anyone who takes delight in culture and traditions.
The Starting Point of our trip is the Howrah Railway Station Main Gate. The Trip starts latest by 12:30 Hrs.
We get introduced to each other and board in the Howrah- Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Express around 13:15 Hrs.
Reach Balasore Railway Station around 17:30 Hrs.
We board into a three wheeler to reach in Chandipur by the Sea (approximately 45 Minutes Journey) and check into the OTDC Hotel.
Evening is for leisure roaming on the pristine and virgin beach of Chandipur.
Early morning around 06:30 Hrs, we experience Sun-rise from Sea Beach.
After Breakfast, around 09:30 Hrs, we begin transfer for Panchalingeswar Temple (01 Hour Journey).
We explore Panchalingeswar in Nilgiri Mountain Region.
We head towards Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary and experience the Mayurbhanj Elephant Reserve to get a sighting of these famous Asiatic elephants.
Return back to Hotel by sun down.
Evening is for Leisure.
Early morning, around 07:30 Hrs, we check out from the Hotel and reach Balasore Station by 08:30 Hrs.
Board in Dhauli Express around 09:30 Hrs. from Balasore Railway Station and reach Bhubaneswar around 13:00 Hrs. for a short layover.
We board in Bhubaneswar Rourkela Intercity Express around 14:00 Hrs. and reach Angul Railway Station around 16:30 Hrs.
We begin our transfer to reach Satkosia Tiger Reserve. (approximately 01 Hour Journey)
Reach Satkosia around 18:00 Hrs.
Overnight stay in the Nature camp (OFDC Hotel) inside Satkosia Tiger Reserve.
Post Breakfast, we explore the nearby tribal villages of Satkosia Tiger Reserve. Visit the crocodile project near Mahanadi. Return back to camp during Lunch Hour.
Post lunch go to local Tribal villages for Photography Expedition.
Evening is for leisure in Satkosia (Camp-fire can be arranged on special requirement).
Overnight stay in Nature Camp (OFDC Hotel).
Check out from Satkosia around 12:30 Hrs. and reach Angul around 14:30 Hrs.
We ride on Bolangir Bhubaneswar Intercity Superfast Express around 19:00 Hrs. and reach Bhubaneswar around 21:00 Hrs.
Board in Yeshwantpur Howrah Superfast Express around 23:30 Hrs. for the last journey of the trip.
Reach Howrah Railway Station around 07:30 Hrs.
