Seven Days Backpackers Road Trip to Rambha - Taratarini - Gopalpur
It is indeed true a single word cannot express the beauty and experience of Odisha. Marking the eastern boundary of the peninsula of India, the cultural land of Odisha is a tourist destination that completes the jigsaw puzzle. Home to one of the four sacred Hindu pilgrimages, this eastern state satiates the curiosity of a traveller who is curious to learn about the vivid elements that paint its canvas. The state also boasts of stunning architecture both of the temples as well as the houses which will make you feel even more invited. The famous Chilika Lake, also the second largest coastal lagoon in the world has so much to offer you if nature and bird watching attract you. Yes, the lake is a perfect destination for the nature lovers looks for an escape from the hullabaloo of the urban life. Odisha is also home to some really picturesque waterfalls and rivers. The state offers some great family vacation destination and lovers getaways where basking in the lap of nature can rejuvenate you. The state boasts of several national parks and wildlife sanctuaries that offer an incredible experience of sighting diverse flora and fauna. Odisha is also a travel place for art connoisseurs and for anyone who takes delight in culture and traditions.
We start our journey from Howrah Railway Station around 19.00 Hrs.
Board onto Howrah Yesvantpur Superfast Express at 20.00 Hrs.
Overnight journey in train to reach Balugaon Railway Station.
Early next morning around 04:30 Hrs, we reach Balugaon Railway Station, which is 29 kilometers away from our first destination - Rambha.
We start for Rambha around 05:30 Hrs. En-route to Rambha, we visit Barkul. We reach Rambha approximately 07:30 Hrs. and check into a Hotel.
Post Lunch, we start exploring the islands of the Famous Chilka Lagoon riding in a speedboat . Experience Beacon Island, make a small uphill climb on the Dinosaur Island. Explore other small islands and enjoy the sunset with the migratory birds.
Return back to the Hotel by sunset.
Overnight stay at Rambha.
We start post breakfast around 09:30 Hrs for Satapada.
Reach Satapada (64 Kilometers) around 11:30 Hrs.
We make a boat ride to Dolphin watch point to catch sight of these beauties.
Return back to shore around 13:30 Hrs.
We return back to the Hotel in Rambha through the same route as taken in the morning.
Evening is for Leisure exploration in Rambha.
We start post breakfast for Taratarini, around 10:30 Hrs. Reach and check-in to the Hotel on Kumari Hill Top by Cable-car around 13:30 Hrs.
Rest of the day is for leisurely stroll around Kumari Hills. Make a wish and worship to Famous Goddess Shakti.
The evening is to experience a beautiful sunset from the hilltop. (This Hotel at Taratarini is subject to availability. If it is not available we will return back to Rambha and overnight stay will be in Rambha).
Post breakfast, we start for Gopalpur. Reach Gopalpur around 11:30 Hrs & check into the Hotel.
Post lunch we begin our journey in the SUV and reach Ghodahada Dam via Chikiti (67 Kilometers.) Return back around 19:30 Hrs.
We start early morning (around 05:30 Hrs) with a coastal trek towards Haripur fishermen village via Gopalpur Lighthouse.
Experience the sunrise en route. Take refreshments on arrival to Haripur Sea Beach.
Return back to Hotel around 09:30 Hrs and take a late Breakfast.
Post Lunch, we checkout and begin our return journey for Brahmapur Railway Station around 13:30 Hrs.
We board Down Train Chennai-Howrah mail at 17:00 Hrs. ( No dinner will be served during the Train Journey)
Reach Howrah Railway Station around 04:00 Hrs. after an amazing and rejuvenating six days.
