Nine Days Backpackers Road Trip to Leh- Ladakh via Srinagar
The long stretches of frivolous snow-clad mountains, verdant wavering foliage and the gleaming blue water accompanies the many fascinating vistas that prevails in the land of Jammu & Kashmir. The state is carefully divided in to three prime regions namely, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, which are fringed by Great Himalayan and Pir Panjal range. A well-deployed state for tourism and adventure, it is set amidst majestic beauty of nature that rejuvenates and offers impeccable peace of mind. Travel to Jammu & Kashmir to find a world away from the confines of mundane. Srinagar is an epitome of romance and sublime nature. The summer capital of the state of Jammu & Kashmir, it is situated perfectly at the heart of Kashmir Valley. Inarguably picturesque and surprisingly humble, Srinagar is a decent host for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. Leh-Ladakh is often referred to as the ‘Land of Buddhism’ and is not only a heaven for nature enthusiasts but, also an empyrean for passionate adventure lovers and thrill seekers who specially travel here from different corners of the globe to satiate their adrenaline-filled desires for an unprecedented adventure of trekking, mountain biking, river rafting and high-altitude camping; Leh’s neighbouring valleys of ‘Nubra’ and ‘Markha’ count amongst the most popular trekking destinations.
We start our trip by reaching Srinagar latest by 15:00 Hrs. & check into the Hostel beside Dal Lake.
Evening is to get to know one another & relaxing around Dal Lake in Shikara.
We start early morning at 06:00 Hrs. for Kargil in J&K SRTC Buses.
En-route, we visit Sonmarg, known as ‘The Meadow of Gold’. We take Lunch at Drass - world’s second coldest inhabited place.
Reach Kargil around 16:30 Hrs. & check into the Hotel.
We board in an early morning bus from Kargil to Leh which is approximately at a distance of 230 kilometers.
Check into the Hostel.
The rest of the day is for leisure in Leh.
After Breakfast, we leave for local sightseeing by Car. We visit three famous monasteries - Shey Monastery,Thiksey Monastery & Hemis Monastery.
We return back to Leh by evening.
The rest of the day is for relaxing in Leh.
Leave early morning to the villages of Nubra Valley - Diskit and Hunder.
En-route, we shall pass world famous Khardung La
We spend the night in the Tent accommodation/Homestay of Hunder.
After Breakfast, we head towards Pangong Tso using the scenic Shayok Road.
We take a break at Tangstey for lunch.
Post Lunch, we resume our journey and reach Pangong Tso by 15:30 Hrs.
We spend the evening chilling near the beautiful and serene Pangong Tso.
Return to the Tent accommodation/Homestay at Tangstey in time for dinner.
Post Breakfast, we leave Tangstey behind and head towards Leh via Chang-la.
Reach Leh around 14:00 Hrs. and check into Hostel.
The rest of the day is for leisure.
This is last day in Leh. The first half of the day is for exploration of the Leh Palace or to wander through the tiny lanes of the city Leh.
Around 16:00 Hrs. we leave for Manali.
Reach Manali by 10:00 Hrs. ending a wonderful expedition.
