Sikkim, bordered by Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet, and located in the higher Himalayas, is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the country and has gained its popularity owed to the naturally serene Himalayan beauty. Home to many majestic peaks like the second highest mountain in the world, Kanchenjunga (8586 m above sea level), valleys like the Yumthang Valley, rivers like the Lachung Chu and Lachen Chu, lakes like the Gurudongmar Lake and many waterfalls, Sikkim is one paradise of a state to visit. 
And as you will find out in one of the best North Sikkim tours, the beauty of this state cannot be described in words or be captured in photographs, but one has to see for themselves why all the hype surrounding the state is actually worth all the attention that it gets. For over a week, you will find yourself falling in love over and over again with the valleys, peaks, meadows, waterfalls, confluences and all the colours of this beautiful state. You be visiting the Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir, Tashi viewpoint, Seven Sister waterfalls, Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang Valley, Buddha Park, Rimbi Falls, Kanchenjunga falls, and Khecheopalri Lake (which is also known as the wish fulfilling lake.

On the last day of the North Sikkim tour package, you will take a transfer from Gangtok to the NJP station.

    Transfer to Gangtok :

    On arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), Guests meet our representative, who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok, situated at 5414 Ft /1650 Mts, 130 Kms, approximately a five hours drive & give you briefing about your tour .
    After leaving Siliguri, we drive along the NH 31A through the dense forests of Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary, the natural playground of wild elephants, tiger and deer. Sevoke comes next with its promises of gorgeous views of the winding Tista river as it comes out from the deep gorge of the Himalayas and spreads itself in the vast plains of North Bengal. From Teesta Bazaar, follows the winding roads and a picturesque drive through Himalayan hills to Gangtok , the capital of Sikkim.
    Guests are checked into the designated hotel and can get refreshed for a free leisure evening. Recommend to free roam in MG road around the Mall to enjoy the typical hill city life of Gangtok and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in hotel.

    Transfer to Lachen :

    After an early breakfast, the Guests will proceed to Lachen. The route meanders through valleys of small villages upto the forest grove of Kabi Lungchok.
    Singhik comes next with its promise of one of the most glorious views of Kanchenjunga. Situated at an altitude of over 4000 Ft, Singhik offers a respite to the Guests on the way to Lachen . The Guests will have lunch on the way.
    Guests have the option of visiting Chungthang, the confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu (rivers) and Vimala Falls on the way to Lachen.
    Reach Lachen by late afternoon. Lachen is also a base for the popular Green Lake trek.

    Excursion Gurudongmar & Transfer to Lachung :

    The Guests can start the day with an early morning drive to Thangu Village at an altitude of 4100 Mts / 13450 Ft, a remote high altitude village of Tibetan Nomads and also proceed further to Chopta Valley at an altitude of 4000 Mts / 13124 Ft. to get some breathtaking views of the alpine valley of frozen rivers. From Chopta Valley, the Guests are driven for another 30 kms taking approximately 1.5 hours to Gurudongmar Lake at 5225m / 17143 Ft. close to the Tibet Border. It is one of the highest and biggest freshwater lakes in Sikkim.
    The Guests are escorted back to Lachen for a late lunch.
    The Guests are checked out from Lachen and driven further to Lachung via Chungthang. En route, the guests can visit Chungthang confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu and Vimala Waterfalls.
    The Guests are checked in at the designated hotel. The Guests can enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.
    Lachung is another remote high altitude village of Tibetan and Bhutia people in North Sikkim with towering rocky snow peaks, vibrant rhododendron valley, lush green yak pastures, perennial waterfalls, hot springs and forms the base for exploring the alpine valley of Yumthang and Yumesamdong close to the Tibetan plateau.

    Excursion to Yumthang & Transfer to Gangtok :

    Early morning, the Guests are driven to Yumthang Valley, an alpine flower valley in North Sikkim. The Guests can enjoy the scenic landscape and hot spring here. Subject to extra payments, the Guests have the option to visit Yumesamdong at an altitude of 4725m / 15503 Ft or popularly known as Zero Point. It is close to the Tibetan Border & is one of the highest motorable roads in Sikkim.
    The valley is covered with snow during January to March & with rhododendrons during April & May. Enroute visit Sulphur Hot Spring having medicinal values.
    Lunch at hotel in Lachung. After lunch visit Handicraft Centre & Lachung Monastery. Later drive back to Gangtok, In the evening arrive at Gangtok and check into the hotel.

    Excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir :

    Morning breakfast at hotel
    The blueprint of the day starts with the excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir nearly 40 kilometers away. The Lake is oval in shape, nearly 50 feet deep and generally covered in snow for most of the year. This lake is home to the Brahminy Ducks & many other migratory birds.
    An optional tour to Nathula Pass, which is a Pass to the Republic of China, is nearly 20 kilometers from this point.
    Optional Nathula Tour, conducted at an additional cost, lies at 14140 Ft / 4310 Mts is a 20 Kms (one way) drive approximately one hour (1 hour) from Tsomgo Lake. Baba Mandir lies at 13100 Ft / 3994 Mts and is a 20 Kms drive from Tsomgo Lake.
    After the tour, the Guests shall return back to Gangtok. Evening would be for leisure exploration around M.G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center.
    Overnight stay at Gangtok.
    Nathula Pass is an Indo-China Border, controlled by the Indian Army, is situated approximately 20 Kms ahead of Tsomgo Lake at a height of 14140 Ft / 4310 Mts. The journey to Nathula Pass & Baba Mandir is same upto 16 Kms. At this point, the road divides into two, the right road takes one to Baba Mandir & left road takes one to Nathula Pass.
    One can opt for Nathula Excursion by paying an additional cost which varies from month to month. Nathula Pass permit gets confirmed 24 hrs prior to the journey date & actualisation is subject to permit availability as it is allotted as per lottery. Nathula Pass is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays for tourists. Organizing the permit at the last moment is not possible. A clear window of 72 Hrs. with proper documents is required to process the permit.
    There is no refund, in case the permit is confirmed by Sikkim tourism & due to whatsoever reason (Landslide, Heavy rainfall, VIP Movement, Health issue etc.) one is not able to visit.
